Welcome to August!

I can't believe that it is August already! 2015 is over halfway over! Crazy!

July was definitely a busy month for me! I'm happy that I've been able to keep up with my #workitout100 Challenge!

Day 11 - Treadmill walking

Day 12 - REST DAY
Day 13 - Introduced my mom to at-home You Tube walking workouts

Mom resting with mini-me after her workout

For my mom's last night with us she wanted to take us to Bonefish Grill for dinner. None of us had ever been and boy were we in for a treat! One of the more popular items is the Bang Bang Shrimp.

It was delicious - I could have just eaten this whole thing myself for dinner and been perfectly happy!

After dinner the teens were being picked up by their dad because they were leaving for a vacation with him early the next morning. We took a few final pictures with my mom before they left.

Then we went home and indulged in some adult beverages.

The next day we slept in a little and then drove my home to the airport before we headed off on our own mini-getaway.

Day 14 - stretching using the Sworkit app
Day 15 - Treadmill run before our 3 hour road trip

Ahhhhh.... obligatory feet in the sand pic when you go to the beach!
This was the most active I had ever been on a vacation. We brought our bikes with us and ended up biking into town every day - sometimes even twice! I even went canoeing for my very first time!

Day 16 - canoeing and beach walking

On the way home we detoured at the casino where I won a little bit of money!

Day 17 - more bike riding on vacation
Day 18 - REST Day (driving back from beach and visiting in-laws)
Day 19 - treadmill walking to hit my 10K steps
The day after we got back we went to check out a Bowie Baysox game. The Baysox are our local minor league baseball team affiliated with the Baltimore Orioles. The minor league games are much more intimate and interactive - oh - and AFFORDABLE!

Day 20 - hodgepodge workout (strength training with Jessica Smith, Circuit Training with
Fit Star app, walking workout with Jessica Smith)

Day 21 I was a little sore from yesterday's workout so I tried a beginner FitStar yoga workout
Day 22 I was battling an upset tummy so I only managed a 15 min treadmill walk

Day 23 - slow, late treadmill walk while watching Extreme Weight Loss
Hit my steps!

Last summer league soccer game for mini-me and it was hot as heck!

Day 24 - REST day
Day 25 Another late night treadmill walk. This time while watching Catfish with my teens.

Mini golf with my teens

Yes - I beat them!

A little bowling with the teens - let's hear it for MOM!

Day 26 was just a quick FitStar app workout
Day 27 was leg day with a Jessica Smith workout

Day 28 - my legs were mega sore from leg day. I stretched and cleaned my house.
Day 29 was a slow lunchtime treadmill walk on still sore legs.

I started a new book. An actual real book with pages rather than an e-book!

One entire week hubby traveled, the kids were with their dad, and I only had myself to cook for!

Day 30 - Legs feeling better and I was able to pick up my lunchtime treadmill walking pace!

Day 31 - Took the teens out to dinner and then came home and walked slowly
on the treadmill to hit my steps!

Day 32 - Another night where I went out to dinner.
Another night where I had to get in some late night steps on the treadmill
to make my step goal.

Day 33 - REST Day
Day 34 - Another hodgepodge day. I did a FitStar warm--up, a mini-trampoline
workout and then ran a mile.

The teens are competing with each other to see who can keep a one mile run streak going for the most consecutive days. They started it last week at their dad's so on Sunday when they came back home they asked if hubby and I would go out for a run with them.

Day 35 - 1 mile run

Overall I'm pleased with my progress on my #workitout Challenge. I'm really only competing with myself so the Challenge is what I make it out to mean for myself.

I don't subscribe to working out every single day - I think our bodies do need rest days so that's why I still count my rest days as part of my 100 day Challenge. Looking back at July's workouts I can see that I definitely need to make more of an effort to add-in some strength training workouts in August.
